Behnaz Chahkandi

I am an Iranian artist who has spent the past nine years living in Nigeria, an experience that has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. My work is a fusion of the rich histories, cultures, and artistic traditions of both Iran and Nigeria. Each piece is a bridge between these two worlds, blending Persian heritage with the vibrant essence of African artistry.Through my art, I explore the beauty, symbolism, and storytelling deeply rooted in both cultures.

I use mixed media, incorporating elements such as gold leaf, acrylics, and traditional patterns to create a unique visual language that speaks to shared histories and interconnected identities. My inspiration comes from ancient motifs, folklore, and the dynamic expressions of both civilizations, transforming them into contemporary narratives.
